Seven steps

The patient journey.

Treatment is never the first step. Evaluation is.

  1. 01

    Start with a conversation

Schedule a consultation to discuss your questions and what you are hoping to address.

  2. 02

    Medical evaluation

Review relevant medical and mental health history, medications, previous treatment and treatment goals.

  3. 03

    Safety screening

Review implanted devices, neurological history and other considerations relevant to magnetic stimulation.

  4. 04

    Personalized treatment plan

If treatment is appropriate, the medical team explains the recommended protocol and what it involves.

  5. 05

    EXOMIND treatment

Patients remain awake while magnetic stimulation is delivered by the treatment team.

  6. 06

    Monitoring

Track symptoms and treatment response over time.

  7. 07

    Follow up

Review response together and discuss appropriate next steps.

The room

Inside a treatment session.

You are seated and awake throughout. No sedation or anesthesia is used. The applicator is positioned against the scalp by trained staff, and stimulation is delivered in pulses you can hear and feel.

Session length and course structure are determined by your clinical plan. Because you remain alert, most patients are able to resume normal activities afterward, though your care team will tell you what applies in your case.

You can ask staff to pause at any point during a session.

Honest expectations

What treatment may feel like.

Commonly described sensations include the following. They are typically temporary, and you should report anything that concerns you to your care team.

  • Tapping
  • Pulsing
  • Pressure sensations
  • Scalp sensations
  • Temporary discomfort
  • Temporary headache

Serious adverse events associated with TMS are rare but are described in the medical literature. Safety screening exists specifically to reduce risk, and your team will review it with you before treatment begins.

Afterward

After a treatment series.

Response is tracked over time rather than judged in a single moment. Your team reviews symptoms, sleep, energy, function and any side effects, and then discusses appropriate next steps with you.

Some patients continue therapy and medication throughout. Some need a different plan entirely. The point of follow-up is to find out which, using information rather than optimism.
