Therapoint Medicine presents
The EXOMIND Learning Center
Understand the technology. Understand the science. Decide whether it's worth a conversation.
EXOMIND uses non-invasive transcranial magnetic stimulation technology to interact with targeted areas of the brain. At Therapoint Medicine, we believe new medical technology should come with something just as important: clear information.
The Learning Center exists to help patients, families and mental-health professionals understand what EXOMIND is, how transcranial magnetic stimulation works, what research tells us, what treatment may feel like, and which questions should be asked before considering care.
Education before treatment.
Not every person who learns about EXOMIND needs EXOMIND. Our goal is to help you understand the technology and determine — through appropriate medical evaluation — whether it may be relevant to your individual situation.

EXOMIND 101
What is EXOMIND?
EXOMIND is a non-invasive brain-stimulation system that uses ExoTMS technology, a form of transcranial magnetic stimulation. A specialized applicator generates rapidly changing magnetic fields outside the head, and those fields can stimulate targeted areas of the cerebral cortex.
EXOMIND does not require surgery and does not require an implanted device. Patients remain awake during treatment. At Therapoint, EXOMIND is provided within a physician-led treatment program following appropriate clinical evaluation.
EXOMIND applicator
Positioned outside the head no incision, no implant.
Magnetic stimulation
Rapidly changing magnetic fields are generated.
Targeted brain region
Fields reach a defined area of the cerebral cortex.
Neural activity
Activity in targeted circuitry may be influenced.
The brain
A network, not a switch.
One region frequently discussed in depression and TMS research is the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. The DLPFC participates in cognitive control, executive functioning and networks involved in mood regulation.
It is not a “happiness center.” Depression involves complex, distributed networks rather than one single area of the brain, and any honest explanation has to hold both ideas at once.

Plain talk
Let's clear up a few things.
EXOMIND is not:
- A personality changing machine.
- A replacement for every form of therapy.
- A guarantee of happiness.
- A treatment appropriate for everyone.
- A reason to stop medication without your prescribing clinician.
- A substitute for an appropriate medical evaluation.
It is a medical technology worth understanding.

The information provided through the Therapoint Medicine EXOMIND Learning Center is intended for general educational purposes and should not be considered medical advice, diagnosis or a recommendation for treatment. EXOMIND and transcranial magnetic stimulation are not appropriate for every individual. Treatment decisions should be made following evaluation by an appropriately qualified healthcare professional. Individual outcomes vary.
Some applications discussed within the Learning Center may be investigational, emerging or outside the device's FDA cleared indication. The existence of ongoing or completed research does not establish that a treatment is safe or effective for a particular use.
